I graduated with BSc. (hon.) in Biology from Royal Holloway, University of London. The course was diverse and introduced me to the field of parasitology. I developed a keen interest in Parasitology and obtained my MSc in Medical Parasitology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. My master’s studies helped me cultivate a love of scientific investigation through laboratory based research. On completion of my master’s studies I accepted a position as a research assistant in the molecular parasitology laboratories at the Natural History Museum were I used molecular techniques to establish evolutionary lineage and spread of South East Asian Schistosoma. I then joined the Krishna group at St George’s, University of London as a PhD and am currently conducting my doctoral research on the Action of artemisinins on Plasmodium species. During my PhD I have learnt many cell culturing and assaying techniques, in order to asses inhibitors of P. falciparum. Studying in this group has provided me with many unique opportunities including my up coming work on P. knowlesi field isolates in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Recreationally I enjoy group sports, but am truly passionate about rock climbing, which I have been doing on a weekly basis for the past two years. I am also fond of a good book and a nice cup of tea!
